Previously I rode a Rivendell Clem Smith Jr "H" in the 52cm size for about 3 years from November 2015 until August 2018. I have a pubic bone height of about 81cm or so, which per every Riv catalog really says the 52cm is the target size for me, I am pushing the very limits of what they'd recommend for the 45cm.

They're more affordable only because most of the joints are tig-welded instead of lugged. Tigs cut the construction time for each frame down by a lot so the price gets lower.

The Clem Smith Jr is available in an L version (low top tube) and this H version (high top tube), as well as a frameset for USD$900, and complete for USD$1,650. It has to be said, however, that Blue Lug has an impeccable style and they have applied it here.

The cover didn't have a guy decked out in spandex, wearing a $300 helmet, $400 shoes, on a $13,000 road bike, wearing space-man glasses, no, it had a guy jumping over a Rivendell Clem Smith Jr. on a skateboard… like a beacon, it called to me. I mean, it was right up my alley, and pretty punk rock. I was kinda sold before even reading it.
